Dave Sherman, who farms near Thamesville, has been named Outstanding Farmer of the Year by the Kent Soil and Crop Improvement Association. The group presented the award at its annual meeting in Chatham Wednesday night. Sherman was recognized for his efforts to conserve soil and for his dedication to continuous education, as his farm has often been used by crop researchers to conduct field-scale trials.
