Peter Johnson, provincial cereal specialist, has announced his retirement from OMAFRA after three decades of supporting growers through research and extension work. Johnson will be retiring on February 4, 2015 – his 30th anniversary date of working with the Ministry.

Johnson is known for his passion for wheat and can often be found speaking to farm groups, sharing research updates through CropLine podcasts and answering questions on Twitter.

While he is retiring from his full-time role, Johnson says he has no plans on retiring from the agriculture industry and still hopes to be involved in working with growers.

Recent presentations were made in honour of Johnson’s career at this year’s Southwest Agricultural Conference, Grey Bruce Farmers’ Week and other events.
