Comments Requested For Draft Canada-Ontario Domestic Action To Reduce Lake Erie Phosphorus Loads

on April 16 | in Ag News | by | with No Comments

Last week, Canada and Ontario released for public comment the Draft Action Plan to reduce algal blooms and phosphorus loads in Lake Erie. The document is available at www.letstalklakeerie.ca until May 9, 2017.

Lake Erie needs your help! Harmful and nuisance algal blooms are hurting Lake Erie’s environment and economy, and present risks to human health. But a healthier lake is possible.

Canada is working with its partners to develop a Canada-Ontario Action Plan to help reduce the amount of phosphorus – a key factor causing algae – from entering the lake. Your comments and ideas will help build a final Plan with specific actions to help restore water quality in Lake Erie.
