A Taste of Lambton-Kent
The funds raised at this event help to foster programs designed to increase awareness and appreciation of agriculture to youth within the local educational system. It is the primary fundraiser for the Lambton-Kent Agriculture in the Classroom (LKAITC) committee. Current committee projects include Harvest Days, an ag program for grade 3 students, Spring Days, an ag program for grade 4 students, and an Adopt A Farmer program using Facetime or Skype as the platform back to a classroom from a farm near you. LKAITC also refurbishes classroom activity kits with the assistance of the Lambton-Kent Science Education Partnership and supports Food Works that is a program about cooking with local foods carried out by One Tomato.
“Agriculture in the Classroom educates students about rural life on the farm that will help students make better decisions on agriculture in the future,” says committee Chair, Judy Krall.
There are 210 tickets available for this dinner at a cost of $65.00 per person. A $20.00 tax receipt will be provided. Sponsorship opportunities also exist for businesses wanting to support this worthwhile endeavour.
