2018 International Plowing Match & Rural Expo – Chatham-Kent Pain Court, ON

Chatham-Kent will be hosting the 2018 International Plowing Match.  This will require an all-out effort from so many people, and we are hoping our agri sector here in CK plays a huge role in this.

Here is a list of some of the various committees that need to be formed asap, along with contact information.

Corporate Partners Committee

  • Develop and Create a corporate partner sponsorship package
  • Identify and solicit corporate sponsorship
  • Work with all committee chairs to determine in-kind contributions required for IPM
  • Manage sponsorship requests
  • Work with signage committee to ensure sponsorship recognition

Website Committee

  • Create a webpage on the Ontario Plowmen’s Association website, using standard template
  • Provide consistent information to the public and volunteers, in line with the marketing committee
  • In 2015/2016/2017, provide basic information regarding our upcoming IPM
  • Responsible for Social Media Posts/Updates (Facebook/Twitter/etc.)

Logo Committee

  • Develop Logo Contest
    • Logo must incorporate Ontario Plowmen’s Association ‘tractor and plow’
    • Evaluate and select logo design from submissions
    • Work with graphic design artist to develop a digitized logo based on selected design
    • Colours & theme should reflect our municipality

Cookbook Committee

  • Produce a Chatham-Kent Souvenir Cookbook that includes recipes from a wide range of community residents
  • Used to promote the area and our IPM
  • Set-up recipe collection methods for recipes and select those to be included
  • Determine size and contents of cookbook
  • Create cookbook
  • Select publisher/printer and create sales displays

Media & Media Relations Committee

  • Work with the media to inform the public of goals of the IPM and related events in a positive, consistent manner
  • Develop and retain a positive working relationship with media personnel
  • Organize and host media days
  • Maximize media coverage of the IPM throughout the local region, province and beyond
  • Maintain an up-to-date list of media contacts

    • March 27-29 in Cornwall – Chatham-Kent Plowmen’s Association to attend and provide update

  • More committees to be formed later in 2015
    • Accommodations, Entertainment, Volunteers, etc.
  • Attendance at the 2015 IPM in Finch, ON – September 22-26, 2015
