Recognizing the needs of other farmers in the area, Bob and Diane Devolder established Devolder Farms Seeds in 1988. Today, Devolder Farms is a family-owned and operated business with an active presence within the farming Chatham-Kent community.
In 1974, Bob Devolder acquired and has maintained his pedigreed seed grower status. Since then, Devolder has continued to grow, process, and package quality pedigreed seed, along with retail sales of Dekalb brand soybeans and corn. Devolder Farms is ISO 9001:2008 certified, which demonstrates their ability to achieve consistent quality goods and services. These standards are regulated under the ISO Quality Management System and the Canadian Seed Institute Quality Management System Scope.
In more recent years, Devolders started growing higher pedigreed and experimental variety seed in their fields, as well as maintaining select plots. Devolder Farms consistently processes and packages seed that meets the quality standards of purity, germination, appearance and regulatory requirements.
In 2005, Bob and Diane Devolder expanded their business to include farm equipment, called Devolder Farms’ Grain Handling and Equipment division. They specialize in knowledgeable and service-oriented sales of grain storage, drying and handling equipment.
