This year’s BARnBQ, co-hosted by the Ontario Sugarbeet Growers’ Association and the Fox family, is just around the corner. The event will be held on June 25, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., at the Fox family farm at 26528 Baldoon Road, Dover Centre.

This community event is attended by approximately 80 farming families. All proceeds go to the Brian Fox Memorial Agriculture Scholarship Fund, administered by the Ontario Sugarbeet Growers’ Association. Earnings from this fund are used to award two scholarships annually to students from Lambton-Kent who are entering an agricultural post-secondary program in the fall. The scholarships are announced each year at the BARnBQ.

The event features a BBQ meal with soft drinks, a cash bar, door prizes, auction items and entertainment by stand-up comedian James MacNeil.

Advance tickets are $25 or $75 for a family of three or more. Tickets are available online at http://www.eventbrite.com/e/barnbq-tickets-25848434363, or by email: tickets@ontariosugarbeetgrowers.ca.

Tickets may be picked up at Lambton Kent Farm Implements Ltd., Southwest Regional Credit Union in Wallaceburg, or at the Michigan Sugar Piling Station.
